-
Jesus is coming.
-
She knew Abraham, and his righteousness; She knew Lot and his cloudy faith.
-
They traded their tents for a house in the city.
-
God has given parents the responsibility to train your children in the truth of God, the church will help, but the parents are vitally important.
-
Lot was willing to raise his children in a place where sin was rampant and he knew it.
-
Children are a gift from God. He holds us responsible for how we raise them.
-
Lot's wife was acquainted with God's deity. She knew she would see miraculous things if she followed him.
-
We need to move from head knowledge to heart knowledge. To move from awareness to faith. Many people know the stories, but never make the connection.
-
God gave Lot's wife grace by sending angels.
-
God's judgement is coming.
-
Many of us live our spiritual lives looking backwards instead of forwards. We need to put our hands to the plow and keep our eyes on the goal.
-
Lot's wife was priveleged in the opportunities God gave her to be saved, but she chose to ignore it and died without God.
-
When we choose to ignore God's word we are putting ourselves in harm's way.
-
Lot's wife had 3 spiritual problems:
1) Disbelief, a problem of faith
2) She longed for what she was leaving.
3) Her focus was not on the right thing but on the wrong thing
-
God expects us to obey him
-
We must not like our sin more than our relationship with God
-
In disobediance, we choose to be sinful; and Sin is DISGUSTING, like taking a drink out of an outhouse.
-
We need to go out and make a stand, not make a slide.
-
When we comprimise we become hypocrites.
-
Lot's wife's body was out of Sodom, but her heart was not. We need to have our hearts away from sin.
-
Be fully committed to God, God does not want a partial commitment.
-
You may walk in sin for years, but the day of your judgement will come, and there will be no more chance.
-
There is only one thing that insulates our lives from destruction, and that is living under the blood of Jesus Christ.
-
Our faith must be in God, so we can look forward to the day God calls us home.
