Sermon 19 July 2009
"Exalt the LORD In Times of Trouble"
Sunday Morning
Richard Hildreth
This Sunday Pastor Hildreth spoke about the example of Kenny Kuper's life.
The text was from Psalm 34:1-8
Some key points from the sermon
- It is easy to exalt the LORD when things are going great. It is not so easy when we have lost a loved one. But we need to praise and let the praises stay on our lips.
- It is not about you or me, but is about the LORD.
- If God is in your heart, you have nothing to be afraid of. None of us are perfect. We all fail. But we have been given the example of how to forgive.
- In these times of the unexpected we must be able to focus on that which is important to God. The lost, the downtrodden, the weak. God has left us here to be his hands extended.
- God loves you. Shine his glory to everyone around you.
- God provides.
- We must live our lives in a way that draws people to Christ.
- Any of us may pass at any time. We can not boast of tomorrow.
- Be passionate about the things God has called you to do.
- You can never go wrong glorifying Christ.
