Some key points from the sermon
- Between beginning and end we need to walk in Joy, because in the end we win through Jesus Christ. So we should walk in Joy!
- Jesus had joy in the midst of suffering, so we can as well
- Jesus prayed out loud so that we know what is appropriate.
- Our joy is complete when we trust the LORD no matter the circumstances.
- Joy like joy of birth. When we go through the pains of life, that is not the end of the story. This too shall pass.
- You can cry and still be joyful. God wants us to be honest, open with Him and trust Him.
- Joy is a lifestyle. We know God is for us not against us. Joy is unconditional, it does not dependant upon circumstances, but is built on a relationship with God.
- We all have times of disappointment. Joy does not hinge on getting what we want, but on knowing that God's will is best.
- "The thing that hurts instructs" Ben Franklin
- Worry robs us of joy, but God has different plan. If we live the way the LORD wants us to, we don't have to live in fear.
- To be a diamond, we will go through pressure, we will go through fire, then we will be cut.
- We don't have to be a victim, we can be a victor.
- Joy is an every-day experience and must saturate our lives.
- The world offers all kinds of substitutes for joy, Sin for a season is pleasurable, but the end is destructions
- The best pleasures of this world provide a false sense of happiness. God must be the primary thing in our lives. There is no substitute for true Joy.
- The opposite of joy is not sadness, but is unbelief.
- People will see and experience the reflection of God because of your joy!
- Joy does not come from posessing something, but from who posesses us. God paid the price for us.
- Christ's joy will get us through. Focus on him
