Sermon 16 August 2009
"Weeding The Garden"
Sunday Morning
Pastor Richard Hildreth
This Sunday Pastor Hildreth spoke about the transformative power of God.
The text was from Matthew 13:24-30; Matthew 13:37-43;
Some key points from the sermon
- Jesus Spoke in parables
- For those of us who came to church prior to being saved, we were weeds. But we were in a field where we could be changed from weed to wheat.
- It is not our job to weed the garden, it is our job to plant the seed and water the garden.
- We must change the way we perceive and be willing to allow weeds to be in our harvest field, because the weed may be transformed. But if it isn't it is God that will take care of it.
- We must be responsible for that in our lives, and to help others mature.
- God desires that when someone sees us they see the LORD individually and corporately.
- Each of us is important to the larger picture. You must be a piece of the puzzle, plugged in.
- We want people who have struggles to come to church, because God can change the weeds to wheat.
- You may be the person that brings the blessing to someone else.
- We need to draw people in by the Holy Spirit.
