Sermon 23 August 2009
"Pre-Requisites for Miracles"
Sunday Morning
Pastor Richard Hildreth
This Sunday Pastor Hildreth spoke about dying to flesh for God to work miracles for Salvation.
The text was from Acts 1:8; Ephesians 2:10; Galatians 2:20; 2 Corinthians 12:10; Matthew 28:19-20
Some key points from the sermon
- Everyone needs to acknowledge when there are things that need to be changed.
- God had a vision for us when he created the world.
- We want God to work miraculously through us. We must understand there are pre-requisites.
- The Holy Spirit comes to give us power to be witnesses, not to get what we want.
- God wants to give us power to be his witnessess.
- In Christ we can do all things. We need to have a holy awe of GOD.
- The goal of the Church is not self-edification; but is to reach the world through witnessing.
- The goal must start in our own hearts. We must want to change and clean up our lives, then it will spread to our families, to our communities, and to the world.
- We need to take up our crosses and die to the flesh, and walk in the spirit.
- A miracle is something we can not do, God can do it.
- God uses us to be his hand extended. You can't be that unless you are filled with the Holy Spirit.
- We need to teach so there is a firm foundation so that we can stand.
